About Us

Our Story

Community Partners 4 Kids is a 13 year old, 501- c(3), nonprofit agency that serves families with children in Bucks, Carbon, Lehigh, Northampton and Montgomery counties.

Since 2009 Community Partners 4 Kids has provided child identification services to thousands of children throughout the organization’s service region.

Clay Smith, our founder and Executive Director, operated VIP Promotions of PA, an advertising and publishing business for many years prior to the beginnings of Community Partners 4 Kids. Publishing a magazine called Homeowner Resources, this community guide was circulated to local educational, government and community organizations and also distributed by direct mail to families who newly purchased a home in the Lehigh Valley.

In late 2000, Clay Smith met with one of the Lehigh Valley state legislators who, already familiar with the Homeowner Resources publication, suggested to Clay that he consider creating a guide or manual for parents in the Lehigh Valley to specifically identify local organizations which provide services for children and youth living in the region. After much discussion and research, with the help of (now) State Senator Pat Browne, Clay formed the Lehigh Valley Community Resource Center (LVCRC) organization as a 501 -C3 nonprofit corporation. From 2001 through 2003 LVCRC published the Lehigh Valley Children’s Resource Directory and Lehigh Valley Resource Directory for People with Disabilities.

In 2015, LVCRC changed its name to Community Partners 4 Kids (CP4Kids) to better identify with its primary mission. CP4Kids began its annual publication of the Child Safety Handbook, focused completely on safety and keeping kids out of the hands of predators.

In recent years, CP4Kids has developed programs such as its Community Safety Days, the B-SAFE Educational Workshop, and the Advanced English Writing Skills Program (AWS).
